ABOUT ME AND MY APPROACH
ALL ABOUT ME!

I studied at Plymouth University from 2013 - 2016 where I graduated with a First Class BEd (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS degree.

I joined Carbeile Junior School, Torpoint in 2016 and have taught both lower and upper KS2 for the last five years. At the beginning of 2021, I made the decision to leave classroom teaching at the end of the summer term and set up my own private tutoring business.

When I'm not tutoring or planning tailored lessons for your child, I will be found crafting, walking my dog Lola, reading or at the beach!

MY TUTORING APPROACH

I love all aspects of primary teaching and I particularly enjoy tailoring learning to children's individual passions and interests wherever possible. I will work with you and your child in an initial consultation to ascertain which areas of the curriculum your child needs/would like tutoring in - this could be individual subjects or a mixture. Remember, this is not then set in stone: I will always be flexible with your child's areas of need.
I am confident teaching SATS practice and 11+ preparation, alongside identifying any gaps in your children's learning and helping these to be filled.

I am available to tutor children of all needs, whether that is children with Special Educational Needs, Gifted and Talented children or children "at age related expectation." Sessions and activities will be tailored explicitly to your child.

Initially, I will get to know your child as an individual: their likes and dislikes academically and personally and use these to engage and encourage them. I will then use a caring, patient and fun approach to ensure your child learns and enjoys!
